January 15 Watchtower: Angels
by GramblingMan ini'm here looking at my wifes watchtower mag and it has a drawing for the angels, maybe it's me but all the angels are white men and they have beards.
i'm oversensitive or is this a message they are sending out to the readers.
i thought the anointed ones are suppose to become angels?

A jw the other day stopped right in the middle of a sentence. I asked why and they said because they didn't want to get poiltical. I finally got it out of her. She didn't like the human rights situation of a particualr country. How is that even political? Gosh!

WTS: NO MORE BOUND VOLUMES AFTER THIS YEAR!
by Mary ini just found out today (from my sister) that crooklyn will not be making any more bound volumes of the watchtower or awake magazines after this year------instead, they're all going to be on audio tape only.
she does not have a computer so i generously
i think this could very well be yet another tactic of the gb trying to keep a lid on their "embarassing" quotes of yesterday.

Let me first say that it is no suprise the Society would not continue the production of bound volumes. Think about it. They have to produce well well over 1,000,000 hardback bound volumes per years just for the United States. They can't afford it. This fits in well with all of the new soft cover books, and downsizing at Bethel.
Mary was confused about the "audio" thing. This is what I think they will continue to produce:
-Watchtower Library CD-ROM
-Watchtower/Awake Audio CD
-Watchtower/Awake MP3 CD
They will get rid of the bound volumes because people can simply use the CD-ROM instead of the books. It's so much cheaper for them. -

it is a strange video that follows the drama they had a few years ago at the circut assembly.
between the digital effects, strange makeup, odd dialog, and commentary by governing body member samuel herd, this might be one of the societys strangest videos ever.

We really should get it up on the web. Problem is that I've got the VHS and have no way of getting it onto my computer. If it's out on dvd i'll order it. Those are easy to rip.

Those announced as "no longer regular pioneers"
by stillAwitness in3 sisters were announced as such at this past meeting (2 of which have a family member who was recently d'f but the third had been pioneering for as long as anyone can remember)
coincidence?
or possibly they were caught in some freaky-deaky 3 way love fest?

My guess is they did something that got them in troubble. I've never heard of it being announced that people where no longer Pioneers.

Has anybody seen this? A few months ago I ordered some of the videos that I didn't own. This was one of them. It is a strange video that follows the drama they had a few years ago at the circut assembly. Between the digital effects, strange makeup, odd dialog, and commentary by Governing body member Samuel Herd, this might be one of the Societys strangest videos ever.
The point of the video is obvious. We need to follow the leadership in the local congregation without question. It is hard on stressing the point that we need to respect the authority that Jehovah gives to imperfect men.
Just curious if anybody else had comments on this strange little gem. -

Using new doctrine to enforce NEW Watchtower policy.
by hubert inthe watchtower uses bible verses to enforce their shunning policy so that the rank and file won't talk to ex-j.w.
's and therefore find out why they left the org.. also, they use verses to stop the rank and file from looking at "apostate" literature and research the watchtower policies.. my question.... what are some of the doctrine that could be used to enforce "new" watchtower policies?
policies that should be in place, but are not?.

I think we will all agree that the Watchtower is a prime example of how you could make a "Scriptural" point out of nothing but simply the desire to NOT have the opinions of everybody else. I have noticed a strong call for organizational loyalty, one that seems it will start to increase more and more. The "Faithful and Discreet Slave" interpretation will eventually lead them back to catholicism.
